EMPOWERING OUR YOUNG WOMEN

Reel Girl Power is all about empowerment - building self-esteem, self-love and transforming young lives with the power of movement, mindfulness and movie magic. This summer, Reel Girl Power is offering our first online camp for girls and young women, ages 10 to 17.
The camp is a fun blend of creative games, yoga, dance, self-discovery, writing, photography and filmmaking. During our camp experience, participants will learn the basics of film production and create experimental, documentary films using collaborative filmmaking and reflection on self-acceptance and self-love. OUR PILLARS
Movement
Through yoga and dance, we use the body for self expression, energy regulation and maintaining wellness. While both these practices build strength, flexibility and balance in the body, yoga is well known to build these qualities in the mind as well. With our fun, movement practices, youth will learn the basics of the mind-body connection, challenge themselves in new ways and discover the amazing things their bodies can do.

Mindfulness
Through mindfulness and meditation, we teach youth how to still the body and calm the mind in order to work through difficult emotions, better regulate their emotions and ultimately feel more peace. It is this inner peace and sense of wellbeing that leads to feeling more secure, content, joyful and loving. We believe if we are to offer anything to our youth, the knowledge that their inner nature is peace, love and joy is paramount. That’s why each of our courses include mindfulness and meditation practices.

Movie Magic
We believe our young people have important stories to tell and that their unique voices need to be heard and acknowledged. Reel Girl Power empowers our future filmmakers and storytellers by teaching them the basics of photography and filmmaking using the tool most of them already have on hand - a smartphone. Sure they can make videos for TikTok all day, but this course is designed to get them thinking and working like professional filmmakers. Our vision is to help them create their own vision for the future, using their boundless creativity and imagination.i
